• We were the first to join the Beyond Fair Trade project in Italy. In fact, since 2014 we have been buying Doi Chaang coffee directly from the source, grown by the ancient AKHA tribe in one of the poorest areas of Thailand. We are the only ones in Italy to market this variety of Arabica coffee, one of the finest in the world. The result is a truly special blend for espresso coffee and not just for its rich taste.

  • All the proceeds deriving from its sale, in fact, are reinvested directly by the AKHA tribe in support of the living conditions of the local communities. Our commitment is also aimed at introducing organic coffee into our production, an ideal variety for espresso and the American, with a sweet and intense flavor and a delicate hint of almond.

A coffee with a green heart

At ORO Caffè we use an innovative roasting system designed and created to measure. In traditional roasting systems, the hot air enters from below, roasts the coffee, and immediately exits the basket, through the smoke burner and the chimney. In our system, however, the hot air generated by the methane burner does not end its use after the first roasting cycle but is reused. This not only gives the coffee beans a more intense aroma but also creates an ecological value. By reusing the hot air several times, we do not have to continuously heat the system, thus saving almost 60% of energy. Furthermore, our system does not need an afterburner (typical in traditional roasters) to burn the fumes. Thus we emit a much lower quantity of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere than normal. It is a matter of pride to be able to state that our fine dust emissions are equal to 0.9 mg / m3 whereas the European limit is 10 mg / m3.
